"The Master’s Pet has some very interesting and not altogether unlikely world
building. Ms. Glenn answers the question of what would happen if a plague
devastated our world. While I would have liked a few more details on the Night
Dwellers and where the food that the Death Dealers had came from, overall,
this is a very entertaining story. The relationship between Jiri and Zane was
realistic, and I really liked how careful Zane was with Jiri, this really
makes the story. Jiri cracked me up on more than one occasion with his almost
too innocent questions, but given his background, his behavior makes sense. I
enjoyed how the relationship between Jiri and Zane developed, and the climax
is to die for. This is another winner in my opinion from a very talented

"I enjoyed this story. I expected the D/s to be stronger and I think the book
could have supported it. The overall feel was supposed to be more of an
apocalyptic society where danger and power struggles are a constant threat. In
this it started off pretty strong but backed off before it became really
intense. Friendships and relationships along with the general well being of
those under Zane’s rule mitigated some of the factors that I had expected. I
liked Jiri and Zane. I wanted them to work it out and be happy and that is

Honorable, sweet Jiri is an enigma in this new corrupted world. Zane on the
other hand has to be strong, only someone willing to kill can be the leader of
the Death Dealers. Although Zane does kill, he never really comes across as
having a murderous personality. The Master’s Pet is strong on
characterization, yet the plot only skims the surface of this new, dangerous
world. I would have loved more detail about this altered Earth too. All in
all, The Master’s Pet has some hot sex and a fascinating
